How long will it take for my business to sell? On average we tell a client to expect a sale period of between 4 – 9 months. Every sale is different so there is no standard answer. Some sales may be shorter, or some may be longer, no one has a crystal ball that can predict the time frame in which your business will sell.
When Matthew approached us back in 2018, he was operating a skin and laser franchise clinic. After originally listing the business for sale and having no success due to the high franchise fees, Mathew decided to take the business off the market and rebrand to ensure he would achieve the best possible price.
9 months ago, Matthew contacted us again, he had rebranded the business and was no longer part of a franchise. With strong sales to support his new image, the heavy investment that Matthew had made into changing the angle of his business was proving to be a great success.
Mathew saw great interest in his business from day one with a total of 42 enquiries received during his time listed. Buyers were cautious at the time due to the current pandemic, but that did not stop the serious buyers from coming out. Mathew saw two offers on his business, unfortunately, the first offer fell over due to the buyer having cold feet from a snap lockdown but not long after a second offer came in at a higher price.
